Frequently Asked Questions

Common queries and details about using this utility.

Domain to IP conversion resolves a human-readable domain name (like telekit.link or google.com) into its underlying numerical IP address (IPv4 A record or IPv6 AAAA record) through the Domain Name System (DNS) protocol.
Yes. The tool performs Reverse DNS (PTR) lookups using in-addr.arpa (for IPv4) and ip6.arpa (for IPv6) zones to identify the canonical domain hostname mapped to a given IP address.
Instead of routing your DNS lookups through backend telemetry servers, queries are dispatched directly from your browser to public RFC 8484 DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers (Cloudflare and Google DNS) via HTTPS JSON endpoints. No queries or IPs are logged on our servers.
High-traffic platforms and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs like Cloudflare, Fastly, and Akamai) utilize Anycast routing and DNS round-robin load balancing, distributing incoming traffic across multiple geo-distributed IPv4 and IPv6 edge servers.
An 'A' record (Address record) maps a domain name to a 32-bit IPv4 address (e.g. 142.250.185.46). An 'AAAA' record (Quad-A record) maps a domain name to a 128-bit IPv6 address (e.g. 2607:f8b0:4006::200e).
Reverse DNS lookups require a configured PTR record in the IP owner's delegated in-addr.arpa or ip6.arpa zone. If an ISP, cloud host, or network administrator has not configured a reverse pointer record, the PTR query returns NXDOMAIN or no answer.
FCrDNS is a verification technique where an IP address is reverse-resolved via PTR to a hostname, and that hostname is immediately forward-resolved via A/AAAA back to an IP. If both match, identity is verified. Major mail transfer agents (MTAs) require valid FCrDNS to prevent spam.
Yes. Telekit Tools features a complete export suite allowing you to download RFC 4180 CSV spreadsheets, structured JSON payloads, formatted TXT audit logs, or copy clean Markdown tables with customizable filenames and ISO date stamps.
Click the Developer API button (or press Alt+S) to view and download standalone script files across 7 programming languages and environments: TypeScript (dns_lookup.ts via DoH fetch), Python (dns_lookup.py via dnspython), Go (dns_lookup.go via net.LookupIP), Rust (dns_lookup.rs), Java (DnsLookup.java), Bash (dns_lookup.sh via dig/host), and cURL (doh_query.sh via RFC 8484).
Press Alt+P for DevToys-style Smart Clipboard Auto-Detect (auto-identifying domains vs IP addresses and switching modes automatically), / to focus the input editor, Ctrl+Enter to trigger DNS conversion, Alt+V to toggle between 2-Column Split Studio and Full-Width Stacked layout views, Alt+D to star the tool, Alt+S for Developer API snippets, Alt+K (or ?) for Keyboard Shortcuts, Alt+R to load randomized presets, Alt+C to download CSV, Alt+M to copy Markdown table, and Esc to reset.
